A charming 19th century maison de maître

The biggest thing that we have got planned at Château Mitaud is the construction of a winery, chai and visitor reception/wine experiential centre. This will:

• be the place where we will make Château Mitaud red and white wine and possibly a sweet wine (vin liquoureux)

• the place where we will do the elerage en barriques (mature in barrels)

• the place where we will store the wine pending sale or export in a special designated area

• the place where we will have a shop selling our own and other wines

• a place where we will hold tastings and other events both internal and external e.g. cooking lessons

• a place to receive visitors and to hold events

We are excited about this major project and are working on the financing plan to move this forward.

We are also planning to buy part of our neighbour's property to increase the accomodation available for leasing after renovation work is completed. You can see this next to the Japanese house on the right as you look out from Château Mitaud.
